SECOND FORUM OF BIOTECHNOLOGY IN UPIBI

Engineering Student Society Biotechnology (SEIBT) organized the Second Forum on Biotechnology in UPIBI.

BIOTECHNOLOGY AMBIENTAL

Es la aplicación de los procesos biológicos modernos en respuesta a los problemas de contaminación actual, (protegiendo y restaurando la calidad del ambiente). Abarca desde la limpieza de aguas residuales, seguida por la purificación del aire y gases de desecho mediante el uso de biofiltros, pasando por la biorremediación de suelos, hasta la utilización de microorganismos para la generación de biocombustibles. De esta manera, la biotecnología puede ayudar a evaluar el estado de los ecosistemas, generar materiales biodegradables partiendo de recursos renovables, transformar contaminantes en sustancias no tóxicas y desarrollar procesos ambientalmente seguros.

FOOD BIOTECHNOLOGY

Refers to the use of biotechnology for the production, preservation and / or food processing, as well as for the production of raw materials, additives or adjuvant used in the food industry. This area focuses on solving problems through biotechnology molecular biology, based on the fundamental aspects of information and genetic manipulation of different living organisms use for the purpose of obtaining goods or services through recombinant DNA technologies.

JUSTIFICATION

IPN Historically, in particular the UPIBI, has established itself as a vanguard institution and pioneer in teaching in Mexico Biotechnology and Bioengineering.
